Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Ken Norton Sr., a former heavyweight boxing
champion, passed away Wednesday at an Arizona hospital, according to the Los
Angeles Times. He was 70 years old.

Norton, who suffered a stroke last year, apparently died due to congestive
heart failure.

Most remembered for his victory over Muhammad Ali in 1973, Norton finished his
boxing career with a record of 42-7-1 and 33 knockouts.

One of his sons, Ken Norton Jr., played in the NFL as a linebacker for
the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.
