Eskimos ink Charles, Burnett to extensions

Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) – The Edmonton Eskimos reached contract
extensions with running back Hugh Charles and cornerback Joe Burnett on
Tuesday that will keep both players with the team through the 2015 season.

Charles was traded from Saskatchewan to Edmonton on Oct. 12, 2011 and has
racked up 290 carries for 1,527 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 59
catches for 775 yards and three scores.

Burnett signed with the Eskimos as a free agent on Oct. 7, 2011 and has
compiled 104 defensive tackles and seven interceptions, two of which he
returned for touchdowns.

During his rookie season in 2012, Burnett recorded a team-leading seven
knockdowns and league-leading six interceptions en route to being named a
Western Division and CFL All Star.
