Ray leads CFL Players of the Week

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray has
been named the CFL’s Offensive Player of the Week for Week 18.

Ray completed 39-of-45 passes for a career-high 505 yards and three
touchdowns in the Argonauts’ 36-21 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this
past Thursday. Ray set a Toronto franchise record with 21 consecutive
completions as well, the second-longest streak in CFL history.

Calgary Stampeders defensive lineman Charleston Hughes took home Defensive
Player of the Week honors after recording five tackles and three sacks in a
29-25 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Hamilton’s Brandon Banks won Special Teams Player of the Week. The return
specialist had 210 combined return yards, highlighted by a 107-yard missed
field goal return for a touchdown, that helped the Tiger-Cats defeat the
Montreal Alouettes, 27-24.

Stampeders running back Jon Cornish won the Canadian Player of the Week award
after he rushed for 109 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown against
Saskatchewan. The British Columbia native extended his streak of consecutive
100-yard games to five and now leads the CFL in both rushing yards (1,799) and
touchdowns (14) this season.
