Ben Eoin, Nova Scotia (Sports Network) – Mackenzie Hughes used a 6-under 66 on
Sunday to come from behind and win the Cape Breton Celtic Classic.

Hughes, who shared second place last week, finished his first PGA Tour Canada
victory at 14-under-par 274.

Ryan Williams birdied the last to end one back at minus-13 after a final-round
71. Third-round leader David Skinns struggled to a 3-over 75. He fell into a
share of third at 11-under 277. Skinns was joined there by Wes Homan (69).

John Ellis (69) took fifth at minus-9, while Chris Epperson (70) ended alone
in sixth at 8-under 280.

Hughes jumped out of the gates with birdies on one and two. He stumbled to a
bogey on the third at the Lakes Golf Club, but quickly bounced back with
birdies on each of the next three holes.

That burst moved Hughes to 12-under, and he remained there as he parred the
last three holes of the front nine.

Around the turn, Hughes faltered to bogeys at 10 and 12 to slide back down the
leaderboard. The 22-year-old Canadian ran off three consecutive birdies from
the 14th to jump back into the lead at minus-13.

Hughes birdied the par-5 18th to seal the victory.

NOTES: Hughes has played eight events on the PGA Tour Canada this season. He
has missed four cuts and finished inside the top-10 in the other four … The
tour heads to Ontario next week for the final event of the season, the PGA
Tour Canada Championship.
