to lead fourth-ranked Wisconsin in a 76-49 victory over Northwestern at Welsh-
Ryan Arena in the Big Ten opener for both teams. Sam Dekker added 15 points
and eight rebounds, while Traevon Jackson and Ben Burst each netted 10 for the
Badgers (14-0, 1-0), who are one win shy of tying the school’s best start in
100 years (UW went 15-0 in 1913-1914). Alex Olah posted a career-high, scoring
23 points and Drew Crawford tallied 10 for the Wildcats (7-7, 0-1), who won
three in a row before losing their last two.

points to help lead eighth-ranked Wichita State to an 82-67 win over Southern
Illinois in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both teams. Fred
VanVleet had 17 points and a game-high seven assists, while Nick Wiggins added
13 for the Shockers (14-0, 1-0), whose perfect start tied the best winning
streak in school history dating back to the 1953-54 season. Sean O’Brien and
Desmar Jackson each tallied 19 points for the Salukis (4-10, 0-1), who have
lost two straight.

Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) – Damyean Dotson charged to the rim and
slammed the ball home on a fastbreak with 0.6 left to lead 10th-ranked Oregon
to a 70-68 victory over Utah in overtime. Dotson totaled 11 points and Richard
Amardi had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Ducks (13-0, 1-0 Pac-12), who
play in Colorado Sunday. Dominic Artis added 12 points for the visitors.
Jordan Loveridge poured in a game-high 21 and Delon Wright contributed 14
points, six rebounds and four blocks for Utah (11-2, 0-1), which will host
Oregon State on Saturday.
