Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) – Old Dominion University has signed football
coach Bobby Wilder to a new five-year contract as the Monarchs continue to
transition from the FCS to the FBS.

The contract, announced Tuesday, runs through the 2017 season. The Monarchs
will play as an FCS independent this season before joining Conference USA next
year.

Wilder has directed the ODU program since the sport was restarted on campus in
2009. The Monarchs have posted a 38-10 record in four seasons, including two
straight trips to the second round of the FCS playoffs in 2011 and 2012.
