India clinch series win over England

India took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the 5 match series when they defeated England by a comfortable 5 wickets in Mohali.

Batting first England set a competitive 257/7 on a slow wicket, half-centuries from Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen and Joe Root providing the backbone of the innings for the tourists.

In reply India wobbled early on,  getting to 90/3 until Raina 79 from 89 balls and Rohit Sharma 83 from 93 saw them through for an easy win with still 3 overs to spare.

The final match will be in Dharamsala on Sunday, January 27.

India 258 for 5 (Raina 89*, Rohit 83) beat England 257 for 7 (Cook 76, Pietersen 76, Root 57*, Jadeja 3-39) by five wickets
