New Zealand hold on for the draw

Kane Williamson struck a match saving century to help New Zealand hold out for a draw on the last day of the final test against South Africa at the Basin Reserve.

Williamson batted for close to five-and-a-half hours to end unbeaten on 102 from 228 deliveries, his second career ton, as the hosts ended on 200 for six.

All six wickets were claimed by Morne Morkel after he ended with a career-best six for 23 to surpass his previous best of five for 20.

South Africa 474 for 9 dec (Petersen 156, Duminy 103, Gillespie 6-113) and 189 for 3 dec (de Villiers 68) drew with New Zealand 275 (Guptill 59, Philander 6-81) and 200 for 6 (Williamson 102*, Morkel 6-23)
