A superb 76 from just 43 balls from Luke Wright kept England’s hopes alive in the World T20 as they handed New Zealand a convincing six-wicket hiding in their second Super Eight game.

England 149 for 4 (Wright 76) beat New Zealand 148 for 6 (Franklin 50, Finn 3-16) by six wickets

Skipper Mahela Jayawardene scored a classy 65 not out, as Sri Lanka cruised to a clinical, nine-wicket win over the West Indies in their Super Eight, Group One clash, putting them closer to a semi final berth.

Sri Lanka 130 for 1 (Jayawardene 65*, Sangakkara 39*) beat West Indies 129 for 5 (Samuels 50, Bravo 40, A Mendis 2-12) by nine wickets

The action continues todaywith Australia taking on South Africa and India against Pakistan.
