Amsterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) – Ajax climbed to the top of the
Eredivisie table on Saturday after securing a 3-0 win over Heracles at the
Amsterdam Arena.

AZ Alkmaar’s 2-2 draw with Roda earlier in the day gave Ajax the chance to
climb to the top of the league with a win, and the home side started quickly
with a goal inside two minutes from Danny Hoesen.

Viktor Fischer doubled the advantage in the 56th and Davy Klaassen capped the
evening with a goal 11 minutes from time to take Ajax one point clear of both
AZ and Vitesse, which can regain the league lead with a win at Go Ahead Eagles
on Sunday.

AZ did extremely well to claim a point against Roda as the team was reduced to
nine men only 20 minutes into the match because of red cards to both Nick
Viergever and Nemanja Gudelj.

But goals from Mattias Johansson and Aron Johansson had AZ ahead until the
90th minute when Roda’s Vasil Skourtai equalized for a 2-2 draw.

PSV Eindhoven’s struggles continued as the team needed a stoppage-time goal
from Florian Jozefzoon to salvage a 1-1 draw at home against Heerenveen, while
Cambuur topped NEC, 2-1, on a second-half own goal from Tobias Haitz.
