Liverpool moved 2 points clear at the top of the Premiership when they defeating West Ham 2-1 to keep their title aspirations well and truly alive.

Captain Steven Gerrard continued his superb run in with another brace of goals to give them victory at Upton Park and a 9th consecutive win.

In the earlier game it was another day to forget for Arsene Wenger after his team were trounced 3 goals to nil by Everton.

Steven Naismith and Romelu Lukaku found the back of the net for Everton while the third came compliments of an Arteta own goal.

The loss for the Gunners seriously dents their hopes of a top 4 finish as Everton moved to within a point with a game in hand.
