Arsenal ended its nine-year trophy drought on Saturday, coming from two goals...
Podolski brace lifts Arsenal
Lukas Podolski helped Arsenal move back into fourth place following a 3-1 victory over West Ham.
Arsenal bounced back from a 3-0 hammering by Everton which saw them concede fourth although they had to come from behind against the Hammers.
Matt Jarvis put West Ham ahead in the 40th minute after nodding home the rebound from an Antonio Nocerino shot.
Four minutes later Podolski settled the nerves when he got on the end of a Cazorla defence splitting pass to level matters for the Gunners.
Ten minutes into the second half Arsenal took control of the match when Olivier Giroud got on the end of a long ball in the box to slot home his 14th goal of the season.
Podolski wrapped up proceedings with 12 minutes to go when he smashed home his second of the night after Giroud nodded the ball into his path from a cross.
The win sees Arsenal move 1 point clear of Everton who have a game in hand while West Ham remain on 37 points, 5 clear of the drop-zone.
