Dzeko Brace keeps City in the title race
Edin Dzeko kept Manchester City’s title challenge well and truly alive when he scored a brace at Old Trafford in a 3-0 thrashing of rivals Manchester United.
Dzeko opened the scoring after just 42 seconds as City assumed control of the match. Manuel Pellegrini’s team continued to dominate the match however they had to wait until the 56th minute before Dzeko doubled the advantage from a corner while Yaya Toure wrapped up proceedings with his 17th goal of the season in the 77th minute.
City sit just 2 points behind leaders Chelsea however potentially hold the advantage with 2 games in hand.
For United it was a 10th loss of the season and remain in 7th place, their hopes of Champions league football now completely gone.
In other action, Arsenals title hopes were dashed when they were held 2-2 by Swansea at the Emirates, while Everton cruised to a 3-0 win over Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
