Button sets the pace on day 2 in Jerez
Jenson Button’s McLaren topped the second day of pre-season Formula 1 testing at Jerez, as the Mercedes-engined teams showed early advantage.
Buton expressed good pace in the wet and the dry, encouraging signs for the Woking based outfit after a disastrous 2013 campaign.
Raikkonen ended up second with a 1m24.812s, while Bottas achieved a 1m25.344s on the special Jerez hard rubber to be third fastest with the FW36.
Merecedes and Rosberg will certainly feel they got the most out of day 2. Despite only finishing fourth quickest he managed to get in some good long runs, 97 laps to be exact and needless to say some valuable data for the team to work with.
Red Bull again struggled to get in some laps after Sebastian Vettel only managed a handful early on, while Toro Rosso failed to make it out at all.
