Perez finishes top again
Sergio Perez continued to make an impression for his new team Force India by topping the times for a second consecutive day in Bahrain, the final testing before the season opener in Melbourne.
With most of the teams concentrating on strategy and longer laps it was Ferrari and Red Bull in particular that showed a much needed improvement.
Fernando Alonso completed the most laps on the day and came home second behind Perez while Daniel Ricardo came home third for Red Bull, encouraging signs after a winter of dismal results in testing for the world champions.
Jenson Button came home fifth behind another impressive run by Felipe Massa in his Williams with Lewis Hamilton just behind his former McLaren team mate after completing 89 laps.
