Alcantara scores Bayern winner
Pep Guardiola has his compatriot Thiago Alcantara to thank for extending Bayern Munich’s unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to 43 matches.
Bayern went 13 points clear at the top of the table following a 2-1 win at Stuttgard however the Bavarian champions did’nt have it all their own way.
Bayern looked to heading towards their first league defeat since October 2012 when Bosnia international Vedad Ibisevic put the hosts in the lead after 29 minutes.
Without their widemen, Ribbery and Robben, Bayern lacked flair offensively however they finally found away through the Stuttgard defence in the 76th minute when substitute Claudio Pizarro got on the end of a Thiago freekick before the Spaniard secured the points in stoppage time with a well taken volley.
