Borussia Dortmund captain Sebastian
Kehl has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension, the club confirmed
on Friday.

The 33-year-old center-half will remain at Signal Iduna Park until the summer
of 2014.

The former Germany international has spent 11 seasons with Dortmund, appearing
in 273 Bundesliga matches to go with 23 goals and 31 caps for his country.

“We are pleased that we were able to retain a key player and role model for
another year at Borussia Dortmund,” said Michael Zorc, Dortmund’s sporting
director.

“Borussia Dortmund, our club, the supporters and the city of Dortmund have
grown to be a home for me,” Kehl told the club’s official website. “I am
delighted to be a part of this fantastic club until 2014.”
