Hoffenheim edges Monchengladbach

Sinsheim, Germany (Sports Network) – Hoffenheim climbed to seventh place in
the Bundesliga table on Sunday thanks to a 2-1 defeat of Borussia
Monchengladbach at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.

Anthony Modeste gave the home side a vital goal just before the halftime break
while Kevin Volland extended the lead just nine minutes after the restart.

Branimir Hrgota pulled one back for Monchengladbach with 15 minutes to go, but
the visitors were unable to claim an equalizer as they remain on six points
for the season, two points back of Hoffenheim.

Also in the Bundesliga on Sunday, Omar Elabdellaoui canceled out Omar
Elabdellaoui’s first-half goal to give Braunschweig it’s first point of the
season from a 1-1 draw with Nurnberg.
