Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) – Franck Ribery has been ruled out of
Bayern Munich’s monumental Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund due to a
rib injury, it was revealed Thursday.

Ribery sustained the injury in France’s 3-0 victory over Ukraine in World Cup
qualifying action on Tuesday.

“The European Footballer of the Year suffered a partially broken 10th rib in
the decisive World Cup playoff against the Ukraine on Tuesday night and will
definitely miss the match against BVB at the weekend,” read a statement on
Bayern’s official website.

Bayern has not beaten Dortmund in Bundesliga play since February 2010, but the
league-leaders carry a four-point lead into Saturday’s crucial contest.
