Oosthuizen and Scott lead in China

It’s a share of the lead after day one at the HSBC Championships, as former Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen and Australian Adam Scott, both scorched rounds of 7 under 65 for a share of the lead at Mission Hills.

Two-time HSBC Champions winner Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Peter Hanson and Shane Lowry were one shot back at 6-under.

World number 3 and winner of the money list on both sides of the Atlantic last season, Luke Donald, finished well placed with a 4 under 68. If Donald wants to keep his hopes of topping the money list again in Europe, he needs to win this week.

American Jason Duffner currently enjoying his best season on the Tour finished a shot further back alongside Ian Poulter still looking for his first win of the year.

Justin Rose, another who is chasing down McIlroy on the money list has left himself plenty to do after opening with a 72.
