Argentinian qualifier Federico Delbonis stunned four-time champion Roger Federer in Saturday’s semifinals at the $1.44 million German Open Tennis Championships.

Delbonis took down Federer by a 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-4) margin to reach his first career ATP World Tour final.

The 22-year-old Delbonis will play 12th-seeded Italian Fabio Fognini in Sunday’s title match. Fognini beat third-seeded Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) in the other semifinal match.

Fognini nailed down his maiden ATP championship in Stuttgart last week and is riding a nine-match winning streak.

The 2013 Hamburg titlist will earn $328,000.
