Federer digs deep for 6th Dubai title
Roger Federer had to call on all his experience as he came from behind to beat Tomas Berdych in 3 sets and win his 6th Dubai Duty Free Championship.
Federer conceded the first set against Djokovic in the semifinal and it was much the same in the final as he went down 3/6 to Berdych in their opening exchanges.
Federer looked dead and buried in the second as he went a double break down only to find his serve and level matters 6/4. With all the momentum in Federer’s favour he wrapped up the third set 6/3 to win his 78th Tour title and exact revenge on Berdych who defeated in in the semifinals last years.
Federer has enjoyed a much better season reaching the final in Brisbane, the semifinals of the Australian Open and another win in Dubai suggesting that the n17 times Grand Slam champions is approaching his best and perhaps has another Slam or 2 in him.
