Mexico City, Mexico (Sports Network) – Morelia rebounded from a poor result
last week in style with a 4-1 victory over Pachuca on Friday which saw the
club reach the summit of the Mexican Apertura table.

The hosts grabbed the early advantage just 10 minutes into the match through a
goal by Enrique Perez, and the home side doubled its lead two minutes later
when Hector Mancilla found the back of the net.

Jose Cardenas made it 3-0 for Morelia in the 19th minute before Pachuca pulled
one back in first-half stoppage time through Duvier Riascos.

But Morelia put the result away in the 67th minute after Edgar Andrade scored
to make it a three-goal advantage for the hosts. The result sees the club up
to 16 points from its first eight matches, while Pachuca sits mid-table on
nine points.

goals from Mauro Boselli and Matias Britos.

Puebla in a 1-0 win over Atlante, while Rafael Marquez Lugo missed a penalty
kick in the 43rd minute as Guadalajara and Toluca played to a scoreless
stalemate.
