Boston, MA (Sports Network) – The Toronto Blue Jays placed outfielder
Colby Rasmus on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, ending his season.

Rasmus was sidelined prior to the bottom of the first inning of Friday’s 6-3
series-opening loss to the Red Sox, when teammate Anthony Gose’s errant throw
struck him in the side of the face.

The 27-year-old left-hander batted .276 with 22 homers, 26 doubles and 66 RBI
in 118 games for the injury-plagued Jays.
