Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Mets have signed outfielder
Chris Young to a one-year deal.

Multiple reports have stated that the pact is for $7.25 million and is pending
a physical.

Known for his defense, Young struggled offensively for the Oakland Athletics
last season, hitting just .200 with 12 home runs in 107 games. Young can play
all three outfield positions, but has spent the majority of his career in
center field.

Over the course of eight years with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the A’s,
Young is a .235 hitter with a .315 on-base percentage. He’s also swatted 144
home runs in 992 games.

Young was an All-Star in 2010 with the D’backs, as he hit .257 with 27 home
runs and 28 steals.
