Mets ink OF Young to one-year deal

Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Mets signed veteran
outfielder Chris Young to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 30-year-old hit .200 with 12 home runs, 18 doubles and 40 RBI in 107 games
last season for the Oakland Athletics.

An eight-year pro who broke into the majors with Arizona in 2006, Young is a
lifetime .235 hitter with 144 homers, 216 doubles and 448 runs batted in over
992 appearances.
