Rockies activate Chatwood for Sunday start

Updated: September 1, 2013

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – The Colorado Rockies activated pitcher Tyler
Chatwood from the 15-day disabled list and named him the starter for Sunday’s
rubber match of a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds.

Chatwood was placed on the DL with right elbow inflammation on Aug. 1, one day
after the 23-year-old right-hander was tagged for eight runs — seven earned
— on 10 hits over just 2 1/3 innings in a 9-0 loss at Atlanta.

Over 15 starts prior to landing on the disabled list, Chatwood compiled a 7-4
record with a 3.15 earned run average.

With teams able to expand their active rosters on Sunday, the Rockies also
recalled infielder Josh Rutledge from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rutledge, 24, was on Colorado’s Opening Day roster and batted .211 with six
home runs and 16 RBI in 67 games over two stints with the Rockies this season.
