The curtain comes down on the 2012 Moto GP season this weekend in Valencia. With the title already in the bag for Lorenzo, coupled with the last race in the career of double world champion Casey Stoner, this weekend could very well be a procession.

Dani Pedrosa a 5 times winner in Valencia and a 5 times winner this season, will be looking to put his bad fortune in Australia behind him and deliver another win in front of his home fans. It is the third time that Pedrosa has finished runner up in the championship, following his second place finishes in 2007, 2010 and this year.

Lorenzo clinched his second championship last time out when he came home second behind Stoner at Phillip Island. The Yamaha rider lifted his first championship in 2010 and will certainly look to use this race in front of his home fans to celebrate.

All eyes and tributes will be in the direction of Australian double world champion Casey Stoner, who bows out of the sport this weekend at the age of just 27. Stoner has yet to reveal his real reasons for quitting the sport, however this weekend the Honda star would love to go out on a high by winning his third race in Valencia and adding to his remarkable 38 career wins.
