Stoner sets the pace ahead of season opener in Qatar

Double world champion Casey Stoner set the early pace in free practice ahead of the Moto GP season opener in Qatar. Bitter rival Jorge Lorenzo held the advantage for most of the session until Stoner knocked him of the top of the time sheets with a blistering 156.474.

The 2010 world champion Lorenzo showed his Yamaha will be a real threat to Honda this season with a 1’56.648, only 0.174 off the pace.
