Pacers shut down Cavs

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) – Paul George had 21 points and 13
rebounds in the Indiana Pacers’ 89-74 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lance Stephenson added 22 points for Indiana, which is off to a 3-0 start for
the second time in the last three years.

The Pacers outrebounded the Cavs 51-37.

Dion Waiters netted 17 points to go with four steals, while Kyrie Irving added
15 points and five assists for the Cavaliers, who have dropped seven in a row
to Indiana.

The Pacers led throughout most of the contest and put the game away early in
the fourth.

After Jarrett Jack’s jumper pulled Cleveland within 65-57 with 11:33
remaining, Indiana answered with a 14-4 run. Stephenson had 10 points during
the surge, including a triple to cap it and increase the cushion to 79-61 with
7:46 left. The margin swelled to as high as 19 down the stretch.

The Pacers led 21-16 after a quarter of play and 43-37 at the break.

George had seven points during a 9-2 spurt in the third, which gave the hosts
a 57-45 margin late in the frame. Indiana led 62-55 after three.

Game Notes

Roy Hibbert had 11 points and five rebounds for Indiana … Anderson Varejao
tallied 14 points and six boards for Cleveland … The Cavs shot just 34.9
percent (29-of-83).
