Giants part ways with Carr in roster cutdown

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Quarterback David Carr was among the
players let go as the New York Giants finalized their 53-man roster on
Saturday.

Carr had been Eli Manning’s backup for four of the previous five seasons. But
veteran Curtis Painter will be the primary backup and rookie Ryan Nassib made
the team as the third quarterback.

Additionally, the Giants waived/injured offensive lineman Selvish Capers,
waived safety Tyler Sash with an injury settlement, terminated the contract of
running back Ryan Torain, placed wide receiver Ramses Barden on injured
reserve, placed defensive tackle Markus Kuhn on the reserve/physically unable
to perform list and moved safety Will Hill to the reserve/suspended list.

New York waived defensive ends Adrian Tracy, Adewale Ojomo and Matt Broha,
defensive tackle Marvin Austin, linebacker Kyle Bosworth, offensive linemen
Eric Herman, Matt McCants, Stephen Goodin and Bryant Browning, safety David
Caldwell, cornerbacks Terrence Frederick and Charles James and wide receivers
Kevin Hardy, Marcus Harris and Julian Talley.
