Lions release Hope

Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) – The Detroit Lions have released safety Chris
Hope.

The 32-year-old veteran signed with Detroit in June after spending the 2012
season with Atlanta. He made 26 tackles while starting four of the 16 games he
played for the Falcons.

Hope played his first four seasons with Pittsburgh and spent six years with
the Tennessee Titans. The 2008 Pro Bowl selection has appeared in 163 NFL
games with 113 starts during his 11-year career and has 20 interceptions to go
along with 716 tackles.

The Lions also released defensive end Ronnell Lewis, wide receiver Cody Wilson
and cornerback Myron Lewis.
