New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Off to a historic start, it comes as no
surprise Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was selected as the AFC’s
best offensive player for the month of September.

Manning completed 117-of-156 passes for 1,470 yards with 16 touchdowns and
zero interceptions, helping the high-powered Broncos open the campaign 4-0.

Entering Week 5, he leads the league in completions, completion percentage
(75.0), passing yards and passer rating (138), and his 16 touchdown passes are
the most through the first four games of a season in NFL history.

Manning’s teammate, kick returner Trindon Holliday, earned the special teams
award. Holliday returned a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns, with the former
covering 105 yards and the latter totaling 81.

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston picked up the defensive award
after registering 19 tackles and 7 1/2 sacks to go along with two fumble
recoveries and one forced fumble.
