McFadden out for Raiders, Jennings questionable

Updated: December 6, 2013

Alameda, CA ( – Darren McFadden will be back on the
sidelines when the Oakland Raiders visit the New York Jets this Sunday, while
fellow running back Rashad Jennings’ status remains up in the air for the
team’s Week 14 tilt.

McFadden returned from a three-game absence caused by a hamstring injury for
Oakland’s matchup at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day, but managed just five carries
totaling 13 yards before hurting his ankle. The Raiders have formally ruled
the brittle back out for this weekend’s game.

Jennings rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the Raiders’ 31-24 loss to the
Cowboys, but sustained a concussion late in the contest. He did practice on a
limited basis throughout the week, but is still awaiting to receive full
medical clearance to participate in Sunday’s game.

The five-year pro leads Oakland with 588 yards on the ground and is averaging
a solid 4.7 yards on his 126 carries this season.

Oakland will also be without wide receiver Denarius Moore for a third
consecutive week due to a shoulder injury. The Raiders have declared guard
Mike Brisiel (ankle/knee), safety Usama Young (neck), running back Jeremy
Stewart (ankle/knee) and linebacker Kaluka Maiava (ribs/calf) out as well.

Safety Tyvon Branch, who hasn’t played since Week 2 because of a significant
ankle injury, has a chance to return this week after putting in a third
consecutive limited practice Friday. The Raiders have termed him questionable
to face the Jets.
