Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) – The Green Bay Packers have placed rookie
running back Johnathan Franklin on injured reserve, the team announced
Wednesday.

A fourth-round pick of the Packers in this past April’s draft, Franklin had
spent most of his debut campaign as the third-string back behind fellow
newcomer Eddie Lacy and James Starks. The UCLA product rushed for 107 yards
and a touchdown on 19 carries through the club’s 11 games, while adding 82
yards on four kick returns as well as three special-teams tackles.

Most of Franklin’s playing time came in a Week 3 loss at Cincinnati, during
which he put up 103 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries with both Lacy and
Starks injured.

Linebacker Victor Aiyewa was signed off the practice squad to fill the open
spot on the active roster.
