Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) – The Washington Redskins signed John Potter on
Saturday to presumably handle kicking duties for this weekend’s game against
Green Bay.

Regular kicker Kai Forbath injured his groin in practice during the week and
had been listed questionable for Sunday’s matchup with the Packers.

Potter spent training camp with the Redskins before being waived on Aug. 26.
The second-year pro appeared in six games as a kickoff specialist with Buffalo
during his rookie season of 2012.

The Redskins waived fourth-string quarterback Pat White in a corresponding
move.

White, a second-round pick of the Dolphins in 2009 who spent the past two
years out of football, earned a spot on Washington’s roster with a strong
preseason but was inactive for Monday’s season-opening loss to Philadelphia.
