Flyers score late, edge Leafs in SO
Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) – Vinny Lecavalier scored the winning goal
in the shootout to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the
Vancouver Canucks on Monday.
In the first round, Lecavalier made a nifty move to fake back to the forehand
and lifted the puck over Eddie Lack.
Steve Mason then saw Ryan Kesler whiff on his attempt, before stopping a low
shot from Daniel Sedin for the win.
Claude Giroux, Brayden Schenn and Mark Streit all scored for the Flyers, who
have won three straight and five of six. Mason made 41 saves for the win.
Daniel Sedin, Tom Sestito and Jannik Hansen scored for the Canucks, who had a
six-game home winning streak broken. Lack finished with 24 stops.
