Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) – The Edmonton Oilers shipped defenseman
Ladislav Smid to the Calgary Flames on Friday.

Also heading to southern Alberta is goaltender Olivier Roy, with a pair of

to the provincial capital.

Smid, a 27-year-old Czech, totaled one goal and one assist with a minus-6 in
17 games for the Oilers this season. He’ll head south having totaled 11 goals
and 65 points with a minus-45 rating over 474 games in seven-plus seasons for
Edmonton.

Horak, 22, has spent the past three seasons with the Flames, totaling 18
points in 82 appearances. In 86 games with Abbotsford of the American Hockey
League, he posted 41 points (20G, 21A).
