New York and San Antonio roll on unbeaten

San Antonio and New York powered to almost dismissive wins in last nights NBA match ups, both teams remaining unbeaten. LeBron James led the way in another Miami win, the Clippers were outplayed by Cleveland, while Minnesota, Memphis, Dallas and Sacramento also registered wins on a busy night of NBA action.

The Knicks, and their aging team went 3-0 for the first time in 12 years, when they defeated Philadelphia for a second consecutive night, Carmelo Anthony leading the way with 21 points in their 110-88 thrashing of the 76ers.

San Antonio have achieved great success over their 40 year history, 4 NBA championships, 32 playoff appearances and 18 division championships, but never a 4-0 start to a season. They did so last night when they brushed aside Indiana 101-79, remaining top of the South West Division.

In Miami, it was a much improved defensive effort in a 124-99 win over Phoenix. James with 23 points and 11 rebounds, Bosh with 18 points and Wade with 22 starring for the champions.

In Brooklyn the Nets were outclassed by Minnesota 107-96, while in LA Dion Waiters hit seven 3 pointers on his way to a match winning 28 points as Cleveland beat the Clippers 108-101.

In the nights other games, O.J.Mayo celebrated his birthday with 32 points and a win for Dallas over Portland 114-91, Marc Gasol contributed 22 points in the Memphis win over Utah 103-94, and Sacramento almost blew a 16 point lead in their tight 94-92 win over Golden State, DeMarcus Cousins with 23 points and 15 rebounds getting them home.

Tonight’s action sees South East Division leaders Orlando in Chicago taking on the Bulls, Toronto are in Oakland, both teams sit at 1-2 and Detroit are at Denver, both teams looking for their first win.
