Tony Martin wins Stage 11 of Tour

German Tony Martin captured Stage
11 of the 2013 Tour de France on Wednesday, a 33-kilometer individual time
trial from Avranches to Mont-Saint-Michel.

The reigning world time trial champion crossed the finish line in a time of
36:29.

Britain’s Chris Froome finished second and extended his overall race lead in
cycling’s most prestigious event. He claimed the leader’s yellow jersey after
winning Stage 8 and now owns an advantage of 3 minutes, 25 seconds over
Spain’s Alejandro Valverde.

Thomas De Gendt, Richie Porte and Michal Kwiatkowski completed the top five on
Wednesday.

Thursday’s Stage 12 is a 218-kilometer trek from Fougeres to Tours.
