England defeat Ireland to remain on course fot Grand Slam

England remain the only unbeaten team left in the 6 Nations following a battling win in rain drenched conditions over Ireland in Dublin. It was a bruising encounter with England coming out on top 12-6, Owen Farrell providing England all the points with the boot, in an ice coll performance in front of posts.

It was the first time in 10 years that England have returned from Dublin with the win and on the balance of the game they deserved it.

Ireland got themselves into scoring positions on several occasions however constant handling errors ultimately cost them.

The third round of Six Nations matches takes place on the weekend of February 23 and 24 when Italy welcome Wales, England entertain France and Ireland visit Scotland.
