Jones to lead Wales, Warburton on the bench
Alun Wyn Jones will lead Wales in their Six Nations opener against Italy at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday with Sam Warburton on the bench.
Wales are looking for a historic third consecutive Championship however on Saturday they will look to get off to a winning start with Warburton playing a bit part as he still recovers from a shoulder injury that has seen him take no part in rugby since the November Internationals.
Gatland however has plenty of quality and experience at his disposal as he opts for an all British Lions back row of Dan Lydiate, player of the tournament in 2012, Justin Tipuric and No 8 Toby Faletau.
Phillips and Priestland are at half back with the exciting contingent outside of Jamie Roberts and Scott Williams with three more Lions in the back three, Leigh Halfpenny, Alex Cuthbert and George North.
