New Zealand finally got revenge over 7’s rivals South Africa when they defeated them in the final of the Wellington 7’s much to the delight of the passionate home fans.

The home team arrived in a third consecutive final against the Blitzbokke however had come out on the losing side in both South Africa and Las Vegas. This time round with the support of their passionate home fans the New Zelanders dominated their rivals with a 21-0 win and in the process moved back to the top of the IRB World Series standings.

New Zealand lost to Fiji in their opening pool clash however powered on to lift the trophy unbeaten scoring 178 points without conceding a try an astonishing set of statistics considering the nature of 7’s.

Fiji defeated England for third place while Australia got revenge over Canada with the plate final victory.

With only 3 rounds to go theace is between New Zealand and South Africa with the All Blacks sitting on 99 points to the Blitzbokke’s 97.
