Tomorrows action in round 3 of the Super Rugby season sees the 7 times champions the Crusaders 1/2 back at home for the first time this season against the Chiefs 7/4, and the Force 11/3 welcome the Hurricanes 12/11.

The Crusaders have already dropped one game but even in defeat to the Highlanders they still looked the team most likely to win the competition. They have made a couple of changes for this week, with some juggling of positions in the backline while Wyatt Crockett, Owen Franks and Luke Romano are introduced to the starting pack. Zac Guildford is the only player who will start at the back this week who wasn’t part of the run-on team in Dunedin, but his recall has necessitated Israel Dagg moving to the right wing from the left, with Sean Maitland moving to fullback. Why they don’t play Dagg in his best position, fullback, is a mystery. They should still be too good though for the unpredictable Chiefs, who travel to Napier on a high after an outstanding win against the Blues.

Western Force have Richard Brown and Cameron Shepherd returning along with the young Sam Wykes for this game, and they have a much more experienced look than in their first two games. However, the Hurricanes have shown in their two matches what benefits can be derived from the injection of energy into a team and after their win over the Lions they will be in a confident mood. This should be another of those cliff-hangers that will still be in the balance in the last minutes.
