Dingwall, Scotland (Sports Network) – Dundee United netted three first-half
goals en route to a 4-2 defeat of Ross County at Victoria Park on Sunday.

The visitors built themselves a comfortable lead when Gary Mackay-Steven and
Stuart Armstrong scored within two minutes of one another while Ryan Gauld
extended United’s lead with a goal five minutes before the halftime interval.

It looked to be more of the same in the second half when Nadir Ciftci made it
four for Dundee United in the 65th minute, but goals from Ivan Sproule and
Rocco Quinn in the 72nd and 77th minutes, respectively, gave Ross County a
glimmer of hope heading into the final stretch.

They proved to be nothing more than consolation goals, though, as Dundee
United closed out the match to improve to fifth place in the Scottish top
flight with eight points, four points better than Ross County.
