Arsenal and City win convincingly, Chelsea and United stunned

West Brom showed again that they belong in the top flight with a stunning win over European Champions Chelsea, Manchester city ran riot and Arsenal secured bragging rights in the London derby at the Emirates. There were also wins for Swansea, Reading, Southampton and Liverpool on a goal fest day in the Premiership. In the late game Manchester United were stunned at Carrow Road by Norwich.

At the Emirates, Emmanuel Adebayor scored the opener and then got sent off against his old club as Arsenal came from behind to defeat Spurs 5-2 in an emotionally charged London derby. Goals from Mertesacker, Podolski, Cazorla, Giroud and Walcott giving the Gunners the 3 points.

West Bromwich Albion proved they are a legitimate Premier League force by beating European champions Chelsea 2-1, Peter Odemwingie scoring the winner at the Hawthorns and lifting them into 4th place in the table.

Manchester City had a comfortable day at the office with a 5-0 win over struggling Aston Villa, Aguero and Tevez both with a brace.

Southampton increased the pressure on QPR manager Mark Hughes by winning the basement battle 3-1 at Loftus Road, and Reading surprised Everton with a 2-1 win at the Madejski Stadium, their first league win of the season.

Liverpool beat Wigan Athletic 3-0 at Anfield, with two goals from Luis Suarez, and Swansea City enjoyed a 2-1 victory at a struggling Newcastle United.

In the late game Manchester United were stunned at Carrow Road as Norwich beat the league leaders by a goal to nil, former Manchester United trainee Anthony Pilkington scoring the winner off his head the give the home team a much needed 3 points and moving them away from the relegation zone.
