Bradford City completed the impossible by holding on against Premiership side Aston Villa and advancing to the final of the Capital League Cup.

Despite losing 2-1 on the night, Bradford came into the second leg with a 3-1 advantage, giving them a 4-3 win overall. The result has made them the first fourth tier side to reach a major English domestic cup final for more than 50 years.

Its been a tough nine years for the Yorkshire side having fallen out of the top flight and suffering financially, however a trip to Wembley and a final against either Swansea or Chelsea will provide a much needed cash injection for the club.

Rochdale were the last club from the fourth rung of the English football ladder to reach a major domestic showpiece when they lost to Norwich City in the 1962 League Cup final.
