Everton ended Oldham’s  Cup run with a 3-1 win at Goodison Park, advancing to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

Third division Oldham eliminated Liverpool in round four and held Everton to a 2-2 draw in their initial fifth-round meeting 10 days ago however simply couldn’t find enough last night that would cause another upset.

Goals from Kevin Mirallas, Leighton Baines and Leon Osman took David Moyes’ side into the last eight, where they will face Wigan Athletic, with Oldham’s Matt Smith replying for the visitors.

Tonight Chelsea travel to second division Middlesbrough hoping to set up a quarterfinal clash with Manchester United. Rafa Benitez is under immense pressure following their league loss to Manchester City on the weekend and coupled with reports of a training ground bust up with several of the players, failure to get through this tie could signal the end for Benitez.
