Juventus beat arch rivals Inter Milan 2-0 in Turin to keep the pressure on AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table.

Second-half goals from Martin Caceres and veteran Alessandro Del Piero proved the difference, despite Inter enjoying most of the possession.

Juve closed back to four points behind Milan, who beat Roma 2-1 on Saturday.

Lazio consolidated their Champions League position as a Mobido Diakite goal two minutes from time gave them a 1-0 win over Cagliari. They are now three points ahead of Napoli, who were held 2-2 at home by Catania, and Udinese, who drew 1-1 at Palermo.

Atalanta ended Bologna’s impressive recent run in Serie A by winning 2-0 on Sunday through goals by Manolo Gabbiadini and Simone Tiribocchi.

Out of the 10 games played over the weekend on Serie A, 6 ended in draws.
