Rotterdam, Netherlands (Sports Network) – Graziano Pelle tallied a second-half
brace, including the winning goal in the final five minutes, to help Feyenoord
to a 2-1 home win against Groningen on Sunday.

The win lifts Feyenoord into fourth place, and the club is now just three
points adrift of leaders PSV Eindhoven and Twente.

Following a scoreless first half Pelle broke the deadlock in the 58th minute
from a corner kick by Jordy Clasie.

Groningen got back on level terms in the 77th minute when Virgil van Dijk
pounced on a deflected cross to tally his second goal of the campaign, but
Pelle rescued the win in the 87th when he scored from a tight angle to hand
his side all three points.

Ajax had its six-match winning streak come to an end on Sunday as the club was
held to a 0-0 draw by Utrecht, leaving the Amsterdam side level on 37 points
with Feyenoord, while Willem II ends 2012 on the bottom of the Eredivisie
despite collecting a 0-0 draw against mid-table RKC Waalwijk.

Sunday’s other contest saw Roda come from two goals down in the second half to
notch a 4-2 win at Venlo as Mikolaj Lebedynski, Laurent Delorge, Mark Jan
Fledderus and Arnaud Sutchuin Djum scored a goal apiece in the span of 13
minutes for Roda.
